TENTECHULAR DIS:PLEASURES #0

Alte Schmiede, Vienna (AT), 2019

Life performance, w/ Caroline Profanter, ca. 30 min.

Tentechular objects: Stress ball, fruit gum

“By use of pre-recorded voices and sounds, babel and everyday material Caroline Profanter explores the musicality of language. Nicole Sabella vocally immerses into spaces between language and tone, semantics and physical qualities of sound. Based on a space and time spanning graphic score, they follow a scenario circumscribed by sounding and tacit events looking for liminal spaces within the spatial conditions of Alte Schmiede.“

When entering the performance space, the audience was offered green fruit gum. During the sound improvisation, SirenX walked through the rows of chairs and gently swept their tentacle-like extensions over visitors. They were invited to engage with each other through touch with or without involving a neon yellow tentechular object aka stress ball.
