SOUND MONUMENT I:             hommage à margret dünser

While approaching the entrance of the building, one could hear a radio broadcast coming allegedly out of the prominently positioned ventilation pipes in front of the building. In this sound collage, Margaret Dünser "questions" herself about her life.

For this collage I recorded different parts from Dünser‘s autobiography “Highlife“ and combined it with direct quotes from interviews of the journalist with celebrities found onYoutube.

Margret Dünser (1926-1980) became the first female ORF program director in Vorarlberg, Austria, at the age of 28.

A domestic political intrigue brought her

to a fall and imprisonment in 1955.

After her „rehabilitation“ she turned her back on Austria forever.

Under the nickname „Düsen-Dünser“, she became the never-before-seen model for

high-society formats on TV, especially with her successful interview program

for German TV called “V.I.P-Schaukel“.
